The existing kitchen was poorly designed and space wasted having the hob in an angled corner, the sink was not centred with the window (my OCD was doing overtime) which looked horrid. The boiler in the utility was on the side wall which was restricting the wall space as putting a cupboard over the boiler would have caused issues for servicing etc.

 

We stripped the kitchen back to bare walls, redid all the plumbing and electrics to suit, additional down lights were added as the old set up was inadequate creating lots of dark zones. As usual all electrical work carried out and certified to BS7671:2018 regulations. The wall, behind the new position of the hob, was reduced but 250mm in length which isn’t a lot but it made a massive difference to the room as it opened up the area significantly. The boiler was taken down, refitted onto the forward facing wall, and the wall unit was customised to house it. This allowed for additional wall units to be installed. The old heating programmer was upgraded to Hive giving easier control of the heating and hot water controls.

 

Once the kitchen and utility was completed, we went onto replacing all the flooring from the hallway, into the snug, then the kitchen and finally into the utility in one continuous section without any joints or door bars. Finishing off with new skirting boards.

 

The gas hob and oven were reused as they were in good condition, but the hood was replaced with a black glass hood. The kitchen sink was replaced with a composite under mount sink and a brushed steel Quooker boiling water kitchen mixer tap was installed. An integrated recycling bin and a dishwasher were fitted either side of the sink unit.

 

Both rooms were fitted 20mm quartz tops and upstands.

 

All in all this turned out a real treat.

 

Needless to say our customer was Extremely Satisfied with the end result and if the customer is happy, so are we
